The pandemic of 2020 has changed our world in ways that are likely to stick with us. One positive change that many are embracing is the remote work trend. With improvements in technology many business have found that employees are just as productive working from home. This can allow companies to save money on expensive rent and allow employees more freedom when choosing where they live.

Once the commute to and from work fell from the top of the priority list it freed homeowners and renters from the geographical bonds that kept them in cramped, expensive spaces. People are now looking to maximize their work/life balance. With work from home there are some tantalizing options to be considered and many are taking advantage. Meet the Zoom town.

Zoom towns tend to be small or mid-sized cities in or around a beach, lake or some other peaceful secluded area. Areas like this are seeing rapid growth this year, as many people are choosing to work where they have always wanted to live or in areas where they enjoy vacationing.

San Angelo has the infrastructure needed to meet the needs of those that would work from home. Our area is known for wide open spaces and outdoor recreation like hiking, biking and hunting to name a just few activities. Our housing market offers a range of homes at extremely reasonable prices especially when compared to more expensive areas of the country.

To answer our question, could San Angelo become a Zoom town? We think it has many of the elements to put it in the running. Combine this with a shortage of homes on the market and interest rates that continue to be extremely low at the moment and you have an attractive market for anyone that is thinking about selling a home in San Angelo.

Whether you are thinking about buying or selling a home in San Angelo there are ways we can help you achieve your goal. Let’s talk!
